My Top 5 Matrixyl Serums Analyzed for 2021

So, you have heard about Matrixyl and maybe even have heard some incredible success stories of wiping away wrinkles and smoothing skin.   Unfortunately, not ALL of those stories are true. Yes, a Matrixyl Serum can work, but it has to have the right characteristics. Sadly, in today's day and age, there are many serums on the market that Claim to be a big cure for wrinkles, but they fall woefully short. They may contain too little of the Expensive peptide called Matrixyl, or maybe even none. They probably also overlook the Synergies that Matrixyl has with other key ingredients, or even overlook some of the TYPES of Matrixyl that exist. (Yes, that's right.. there are several TYPES of Matrixyl too) Further, studies show that Matrixyl actually works BETTER on wrinkles when combined with another peptide. This other ingredient drives costs way up, and most manufacturers skip it as a result.  We'll reveal that in the article below.

Below, you will find my Top 5 Matrixyl Serums which are the ones that I believe to be the very best.  I have hand selected them after actually TRYING them and discovering that their results are better than the rest.    I then placed them into a simple "Top 5" ranking system so that you can easily see which might be best for you.

The TRUE Serums® Matrixyl Serum is my Top Choice

-How Well it Heals Wrinkles.
-Does it Have the Right Ingredients.
-Quality of Ingredients.
-Value / Bang for your Buck.

The TRUE Serums® Matrixyl Serum dominated in  ALL 4 aspects. Yes, it contains Matrixyl (Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4), but it also contains a very special peptide called Matrixyl Synthe-6(Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38), which adds a 2x Synergy factor to how well the Matrixyl can work.

Additionally, this Matrixyl Serum contains Argireline and Hyaluronic Acid, which just elevate it head-and-shoulders above the competition.  Plus, it has organic ingredients like Shea Butter, Aloe Vera Juice, Chamomile and Green Tea to ensure that while you are aggressively treating your wrinkles with the Matrixyl Serum, you are also giving your skin really healthy does of nutrients and moisture.   I have seen NO OTHER competitor with a quality and combination of ingredients on par with this one.  Full Review

#2 (second place) Matrixyl BioSkin

This is a very interesting Matrixyl Serum.   It contains the correct percent concentration of Matrixyl, and is well made.   It does not contain any other ingredients for healing the skin or boosting skin cell regeneration.

This serums is basically the "Bare bones" Matrixyl serum, as that's all it contains, besides emulsifiers and stabilizers.   It is organic, so that's a plus.

If you are on a budget, this could be a good option for you.  It's $74.99 a bottle, and each bottle should last you about a month.

I have seen only positive reviews for this product online, although there were not many to comb through.

I feel it's a solid Matrixyl Serum that you could look into if you didn't want my Top choice for some reason.   The only negative I have to offer is that it lacks some of the key ingredients I really like to see in an Matrixyl product.

It has no HA or Argireline, and it could really benefit from some of the easy-to-use ingredients like Aloe, or Chamomile.  These ingredients often round out a product nicely, and keep the skin moist and comfortable during the treatment.

#3 (third place) BioGenics Matrixyl Serum

Biogenics is a pretty well known brand in high-end skin treatment.  Their foray into the Matrixyl marketplace has been fairly successful.

They include in their formula the correct percentage concentration of Matrixyl, according to what studies claim are most effective.  While having the Matrixyl in the right concentration is a key factor, it's not the only thing that's important.

Namely, if you are looking for added ingredients that really boost the performance of a product, you will not find much to help here.   It lacks any calming or soothing ingredients, and lacks any other peptides which create a synergistic effect with the Matrixyl.

Price-wise, the Biogenics formula is fair.   It's $98 for the bottle, but it's only 15ml.   When compared to our top choice, for example, it's half the size.   So, slightly more expensive for half the amount.   This is not necessarily to speak badly of the Biogenics formula, but rather, to compliment the extreme value of the TRUE Serums formula.

You can only buy the Biogenics formula online, so you won't find it in stores.   This is fairly common though, as many of the top products are shipped direct to customers from the manufacturer.

Overall, I like the Biogenics formula and it may be worth a second look for you.

#4 (fourth place) Collastin® with Matrixyl

Collastin is a wonderful product for immediately hiding wrinkles and lines, especially crows feet.  It contains Matrixyl, along with a fermented hyaluronic acid that draws moisture DEEP into the skin, and binds the moisture molecules to the skin.   This causes a plumping effect, much like an injection would cause... but of course, without the injection.

However, this cream does not have the combination of the "extra bonus" ingredient called Matrixyl Synthe-6.   It takes an "older" approach to healing and treating wrinkles and only uses ONE type of Matrixyl.  It may very well be a fantastic product.   However, this article is discussing the best Matrixyl Serum, and Collastin is not it.

This is a solid product, and the price is actually pretty affordable at $78 per bottle.    However, if you are looking for a Matrixyl Serum that's the industry leader, you should look to another one.

#5 (fifth place) Phenomenon® Dermal Filler

Phenomenon cream contains some of the ingredients that are key in Matrixyl based products.  It's quality is truly FANTASTIC.  That's why it made our list of the top 5 Matrixyl Serums.   The issue is that it stimulates growth in the skin cells with many other ingredients on top of the Matrixyl.  One of which reflects light, which in turn, hides wrinkles.   So, while this is a Matrixyl based product, it really treats wrinkles with a bunch of other ingredients too.

Now, why would this product be on the list at all?   That's because there are SO FEW actual Matrixyl serums on the market worth discussing.  This is a great product for removing wrinkles, and if you really don't care about using Matrixyl specifically, you could find some great success with this product.

When it comes to price, you can get two of them for just $134 so you may find this a good value.   Each one lasts for 6 weeks, so you're talking about a 90 day supply at that price.

If you have tried many products to help your wrinkles, and are still looking for something else, you might want to give Phenomenon a try.

What Ingredients MUST be in a Matrixyl Serum to be #1?

  1. Matrixyl

The undisputed king of copper peptides for erasing wrinkles, Matrixyl®, obviously must be the formula.   As your skin ages, it's production of Collagen and Elastin (what keeps skin smooth and elastic)  slows or stops.   When this happens, your skin starts to show wrinkles, as it is no longer able to be elastic and smooth.   Matrixyl® actually FOOLS your skin into thinking it's young, and kick-starts the production of Collagen and Elastin.   This is literally like a fountain of youth for your skin, as it produces its OWN collagen and elastin which immediately diminishes wrinkles, lines, and other signs of aging on the skin.  Matrixyl® is BY FAR the most powerful wrinkle-busting ingredient available, and is 100% necessary in a product to be included in this Top 5 List.

  2. Matrixyl Synthe-6

Matrixyl Synthe-6 is a similar molecule to the classic Matrixyl ingredient. It is also called Palmityl Tripeptide-38. It focuses on getting your skin to kick-start the production of 6 vital components. Collagen I, Collagen III, Collagen IV, Fibroconectin, Hyaluronic Acid, and Laminin 5. This quick boost of components in your skin SUPERCHARGES the benefit of the other Matrixyl ingredient in the formula. You literally can not maximize the benefit to Matrixyl in a serum without including the Synthe-6 factor.

  3. Argireline

You have heard about this incredible amino acid peptide on TV shows like Dr. Oz, where he touted it as something similar to a famous injectable.   While this can just be applied to your skin in a cream, it works much like an injectable.  By relaxing facial contractions and muscle tightness, the wrinkles on your face will almost automatically be lessened in appearance and depth. The combination of Argireline and Matrixyl boosts the efficacy of BOTH, and makes them both work Better on wrinkles than they can alone.

  4. Hyaluronic Acid

You have probably heard about Hyaluronic Acid on tv shows like Dr. Oz. He touted this ingredient as a miracle, in terms of getting your skin to produce deep moisture, and "plump" itself, essentially hiding wrinkles. This ingredient makes Matrixyl work better, so it is a Must have for a "Top Matrixyl Serum".  It also has a plumping effect that can make the skin look and feel less crepe-like and reduce the visibility of the wrinkles.

The "Added Bonus" Ingredients

  1. Shea Butter

A well known ingredient for softening, moisturizing, and plumping the skin, Shea Butter is a great addition to a Matrixyl Serum.   While not one of the "vital", must have ingredients, it makes a perfect inclusion for those who seek to get rid of wrinkles and give their skin some general nutrition too.

  2. Aloe Vera Juice

You have already heard of the healing benefits of Aloe.  Since a wrinkle is nothing more than an "injury" Aloe is another great addition to a Matrixyl Serum.   An ingredient like Aloe rounds out a serum, and is very nice for those who have sensitive skin, but need the wrinkle power of a Matrixyl formula.

  3. Various Herbals or Botanicals

A good Matrixyl Serum could also contain some of the well known ingredients that tend to calm and soothe skin, which are often found in skin care products.  Things like Olive extract, Chamomile, Green Tea, Lavender, Honey, Avocado extract and more.   These ingredients are NOT going to make your wrinkles just go away, but they are perfect for rounding out the powerful "Must have" ingredients we listed previously, and a good Matrixyl Serum should have some of them.
